CP 48 е запълнена с полистирен битумна нивелираща замазка за хидроизолация на повърхности на строи- телни елементи спрямо водни натоварвания в съответ- ствие със стандарта DIN 18 195. Замазката постига бързо устойчивост спрямо дъжд и изисква кратко време за засъхване преди да постигне еластично, запълващо пукнатини хидроизолиращо покритие.

Substrate preparation

The substrates must be level, solid, load-bearing, clean, dry or slightly damp and free of dust and substances that would impair the bond (e. g. release agents). At low temperatures, make sure the substrate is free of ice. Edges must be chamfered. Cove all innercorners with a hollow moulding produced with CT 23 Repair Mortar (radius at least 4 cm) or with Ceresit CP 48 or CN 91 Wall & Floor Repair Mortar (radius max. 2 cm, drying time at least 1.5 hours). For detailed information on substrate preparation and priming refer to the Technical Data Sheet of CP 41. After appropriate substrate preparation, also CO 81 can be used. Movement and separation joints between buildings must be prepared with CP 50 Joint Sealing Tape. Slightly damp substrates can be coated directly without need for priming, but make sure to allow for a longer through-drying time. Cracks and other damage to the concrete surface (> 5 mm) must be filled with mortar before applying the waterproofing coat.


Mix Ceresit CP 48 with a slow-running drill (approx. 400–600 rpm), preferably equipped with an anchor stirrer. First, stir the liquid component briefly. Then add the entire powder to the liquid component and mix until a homogeneous, lump-free mass has been produced. Mixing time: at least 2 minutes. After the priming coat has dried, apply a uniform layer using a trowel and a float.


When interrupting work, the layer thickness of bitumen thick coatings must be reduced to zero. When resuming work, the thinner area must be overlapped with a new layer. Work must not be interrupted when working around corners and edges.
Apply at least two waterproofing coats.
In the case of water load type "ground moisture" or "non-accumulative seepage water", apply two coats wet-on-wet with a total wet layer thickness of at least 3.3 mm.
If the water load type is unknown or in the case of pressing water, embed a reinforcing fabric (CP 49) into the first coat. Before applying the second coat, the first must be sufficiently dry to avoid Waterproofing complying with its damage. Minimum wet layer thickness must be 4.4 mm. The maximum permissible immersion depth is 3 m.
